Join the Canadian Club of WA for our annual Terry Fox Run on Sunday, September 14 at Lake Monger Reserve (Dodd Street end) from 9.30 am.
Bring friends, familiy and dogs (on leashes) to run, walk or ride 3.5 km around Lake Monger (1 km option available also) in this annual classic Canadian tradition with our CCWA team and then join us for a fundraising sausage sizzle (please bring cash).
Terrance Stanley Fox (July 28, 1958 – June 28, 1981) was a Canadian athlete, humanitarian, and cancer research activist. In 1980, having had one leg amputated due to cancer, he embarked on a cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for cancer research. The annual Terry Fox Run, first held in 1981, has grown to involve millions of participants in over 60 countries and is the world's largest one-day fundraiser for cancer research.
Free to join. RSVP before 8 September by emailing events@canadianclubofwa.com.
If you cannot attend or participate, but want to donate, please feel free to use the bank details below with TERRY FOX as the reference. All monies received will be donated to the Harry Perkins Institute of Cancer Research.
